The highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is heading to western theaters on March 18, 2022.
The film, which already debuted in Japan last December, is finally heading to theaters across the US and Canada. “The dark fantasy film from TOHO Animation will be available in both English dub and subtitled,” reads the official announcement. “[It] will arrive in more than 1500 theaters nationwide.”
The film will come to the UK and other western territories at a later date.
Based on the hit Jujutsu Kaisen manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 tells the story of Yuta Okkotsu, a nervous high school student who enrolls in the mysterious Tokyo Jujutsu High School after being haunted by the curse of his late girlfriend.
In the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen, curses are monstrosities formed by overwhelming negative emotion. And in this case, the curse of Rika Orimoto haunts poor Yuta. Under the guidance of his new tutor Satoru Gojo, Yuta seeks to break Rika-chan’s curse, while fighting off the forces of Suguru Geto – a powerful sorcerer who was expelled from the school for massacring ordinary people.
The movie acts as a prequel to the hit TV series, giving us a glimpse at the history of the powerful Tokyo Jujutsu High School. It’s no surprise that this popular shonen anime is impressing fans and critics alike.
